In my previous post about cheap speakers for home theaters I have mentioned about there are some PC speakers out in the market that may give enough punch as home theater speakers yet gives you the versatility and of course, price of a cheap pc speaker.

When it comes good PC speakers I mentioned there are a handful of brands out there worth checking out, but when it comes to home theater caliber, PC speaker, hands down Logitech is the brand to beat. They continue to push excellent products and even the products that they are replacing are just as good as the new ones! Without further ado let me cut to the chase and present to you one of the best bang for your buck cheap speakers out in the market right now, the Logitech X-540.

We are talking 5.1 powered system at a price point of $60 dollars. You are getting high quality sound in a price point that can’t even be matched by a lot of the more expensive home theater speakers out there. This speaker is easy to connect to your xbox, tv, computer and it makes it a lot easier with the added cord adapter that comes with the package. At this price point you cannot go wrong with this.
As usual, some people have a little more room in their budgets but don’t necessarily want to break their bank. At the $250 price point, you can get 5 satellites, 1 kick ass subwoofer, crisp sound with all that dolby digital, dts, all that sound lingo along with an wireless remote and ever input jack imaginable in the Logitech Z-5500. The bass is so powerful that it can definitely rival higher end home theater systems. The 5.1 sound experience makes watching movies and playing video games a new dimension of enjoyment. Yes another Logitech recommendation, but they are really hitting this niche so perfectly well that they offer cheap speakers for people with all sorts of budgets. However yes, as a PC speaker, $250 does sound like a lot, but considering you could easily use this as a home theater system, it is a bargain for the sound quality it offers.

One known fact is, Logitech often has rebates and/or good sales on their speakers at all local electronic stores, so be sure to shop around for the price.

Making the most out of your Cheap Speakers

So you bought your cheap speakers, you got your TV, why not learn about the ideal placement to fully enjoy the sound of your speakers. I decided to deviate away from recommended speakers today and rather talk about how to use them properly and locations to place them in. Your cheap speakers will seem like an even better deal when you really push them to their limits!

So before I go on, just remember that “proper” speaker placement is different for everyone, there is no exact science but rather guidelines that you must trial and error to find the best position for your speakers.

The biggest factors is usually the type of home environment that you are in, that includes room size, furniture etc, because at the end of sound waves are affected by the reflections that it comes across. The same cheap speakers would sound a lot different if played at a hall and at the comfort of your own home.

First thing is the distance between you and the speakers, ideally you want all the speakers to gather at one common point, and that is of course you the listener but remember not only are we dealing with distance here, we also have to take into account of the height of the speakers on their relativity to you. Also for sake of keeping things simple, say we have a 2.1 cheap speakers system going on, envision that you are trying to create a triangle with you and the 2 satellites. But remember this is an equilateral triangle we are talking about, so it is important that the distance between the speakers themselves is the same distance as you and the speakers!

Second thing is to be aware of the distance of your speakers and the walls. To prevent from boring you with science jargon, all you need to know is that if speakers are too close to the wall (especially subwoofer), the focus of the sound waves are degraded, hence decline quality. But remember trial and error is key here, but as a rule of thumb usually a foot away from the walls are ideal.

Remember these are all rough guidelines and trial and error are key to finding correct speaker placement. But when you find the sweet spot, your cheap speakers will rival those of more expensive speakers, remember we are using our resources smartly and not throwing out money on useless crap!!

Cheap Speakers for your home theater?

After spending an arm and a leg to buy that top of the line 60” Lcd tv, some of us like to conserve the cash and get the best bang for our buck on cheap speakers without giving up too much on quality. In today’s home speaker market this is highly possible and quality speakers can be purchased with budgets across the board. Today we will post about speakers itself because all in one home theatre systems are getting mighty popular these days but because sometimes some of us have some components already and it wouldn’t make sense to purchase duplicate equipment, but we’ll get to that in another post.

When initially doing research on cheap speakers for your home cinema many of the same brands always come up, but be sure that only a handful really give you the best bang for your hard earned bucks. But be sure that because of today’s markets, even the high end brands back in the day have all released budget brands to try to capture the lower end of the market. Granted that a $200 speaker will never be better than $5000 speaker, for the average joe, the quality may seem trivial.

For sake of discussion, home cinema speakers will without a doubt be more expensive than PC speakers, HOWEVER having said that many computer speakers can actuully be used for home theater setups too, and we will definitely explore that in another post. So today on the high end of our spectrum we will price our cheap speakers at $250 a pop. At this price point, look no further than the Klipsch Synergy B-2 speakers.

These bookshelf speakers (they are called that because they are relatively smaller in size and can theoreticaly fit on a bookshelf) have extremely good sound packed in a small package and even suprisingly have a strong amount of bass. These cheap speakers will perform well even in the absence of a separate subwoofer.

For under $100 look no further than the Yamaha NS 6490, at this price point these speakers offer really crisp highs, clean mids, and decent bass.

If you do go ahead and go for these cheap speakers i would suggest a subwoofer to go with it, and i will definitely explore that in another post.

To top it off, i must leave you with other brands you should look out for when buying cheap speakers for your home theater! There are a few good trustworthy brands out there including Polk Audio, JBL and Infinity, you can’t go wrong with these brands either!
